Revising the Measures for Border Enforcement (17)

On 1st December, 2021, the Government of Japan decided to further strengthen the border security measures against COVID-19 by introducing additional measures.
 
From 0:00am (JST) on 2nd December, 2021 until 31 December, 2021, the validity of visas already issued by December 2, 2021 are suspended except for the status of residence of “Spouse or Child of Japanese National”, “Spouse or Child of a Permanent Resident” or “Diplomat”.
 
Also, it is decided that re-entry into Japan of foreign nationals with status of residence who have stayed in Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia or Zimbabwe within 14 days prior to the application for landing will be denied for the time being, unless they are acknowledged to have special exceptional circumstances.
