「日本の書道紹介週間」の開催 / Japanese Calligraphy Week

当館は、10月15日から22日まで「日本の書道紹介週間」を開催しました。
NPO法人 日本書芸術振興団から書道家 亀谷鶴嶂氏ご一行に来訪いただき、展覧会、講演会、書道体験ワークショップを行いました。
The Embassy of Japan held the Japanese Calligraphy Week from the 15th till the 22nd of October with the collaboration of the Municipality of Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill and of that of the University of Mauritius.
The event was composed of: exhibition of artwork, conference on Japanese calligraphy and workshops with students, members of associations and the public in general.
The whole event was organized by Mr Kakusho Kametani and the members of JAPCA with the support of the Embassy of Japan.

展覧会「国際文化芸術交流書道展 in Mauritius」、「KAKUSHO個展」はボーバッサン・ローズヒル市役所で行われました。亀谷氏をはじめとする書道家の方々の作品と、日本全国から公募した幼稚園児から大人まで様々な作品が展示されました。
15日にはヴェルニサージュを行い、ルーパン芸術・文化大臣、ボーバッサン・ローズヒル市長、ポートルイス市副市長や芸術関係者、外交団が出席されました。
The opening of the exhibition, titled“International cultural arts exchange calligraphy exhibition” and “Symphonie”, Mr Kametani’s personal exhibition at the exhibition rooms of the Municipality of Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill., was officiated on the 15th of October by the Minister of Arts and Culture, the Honorable Prithvirajsing Roopun and the Mayor of Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill, Mr Ken Fat Fong Suk Koon, in the presence of the Ambassador of Japan in Mauritius, the Deputy Lord Mayor of Port-Louis, diplomatic corps, press and multiple collaborators of the Embassy of Japan.

亀谷氏による日本の文字文化と書道芸術をテーマとした講演会は、16日午後、モーリシャス大学で行われました。日本文化に関心を持つ多くの方々が訪れ、講演後には活発な質疑応答が行われました。
On the following day, the 16th of October, the conference organized at the Auditorium Octave Wiéhé of the University of Mauritius allowed Mr Kakusho Kametani to make his exposé on Japanese Calligraphy, describing the origins of calligraphy and that of the Japanese tradition. The Q&A time was very active as the interest for shodo (Japanese calligraphy) and Japanese culture in Mauritius is growing.

また、MGIファインアーツ・スクールおよびボーバッサン・ローズヒル市役所にて、あわせて4回の書道体験ワークショップが行われました。ワークショップに参加された皆様の作品は、日本で展示される予定です。
This was largely proven during the 4 workshop sessions that Mr Kametani, JAPCA and the Embassy held. The first one was at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute with the School of Fine Arts and other 3 was held in the Salle des Fetes of the Municipality of Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill. Associations of young artists, university students, members of the Chinese Fine Arts society as well as the members of the public in general enjoyed participating in the workshop with review in the feedback questionnaire that exceeded the expectations. The work of the Mauritian participants in the workshops will be exhibited in Kakusho Kametani and JAPCA’s next exhibition in Japan.
