JKA Mauritius 2nd Ambassador’s International Cup(November 23, 2019)
JKA Mauritius organized 2nd Ambassador’s International Cup with the joint sponsorship with the Embassy of Japan in Mauritius. This tournament was held on the 23th of November 2019 at Côte-d’Or, Moka.
The tournament had 220 participants, boys and girls, not only from Mauritius, but also from Madagascar, India and Reunion. The categories of competition were comprised of kata and kumite.
The Hon. Jean Christophe Stephan TOUSSAINT, Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation and The Hon. KATO Yoshiharu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Embassy of Japan in Mauritius gave a short address.
The Hon. Ivan Leslie COLLENDAVELLOO, Deputy Prime Minister, The Hon. Mahendranuth Sharma HURREERAM, Minister of National Infrastructure and Community Development visited this tournament and honored the winners.
Prior to the tournament, Shihan, Koichiro Okuma, 6th Dan who is the Assistant Manager of Foreign affairs of the JKA/World Federation in Tokyo conducted and supervised training during his 2 weeks stay in Mauritius.
