Visa Information
Mauritian nationals are not required to obtain visa for short-term stay up to 90 days for tourism, business, etc. that does not include remunerative activities.
A stay during which Mauritian nationals perform remunerative work in Japan or a stay of over 90 days in Japan need to obtain a visa.

Application
We are accepting and processing visa applications for Mauritian Nationals and third country nationals with a valid residence permit.
Prior to submitting an application, all documents must be verified by the Embassy. Please email us the documents in PDF or Photo format for verification.
The documents that are necessary for the application differ depending on the travel purpose and the nationality of the applicant. In some cases, not only documents prepared by the applicant him/herself but documents prepared by the inviting person in Japan are required to apply for visa.

Visa Processing Time
It takes at least 5 working days to process a visa application after the submission at the Embassy, provided the submitted documents are satisfactory. Please note that no expedited service available.
If there is any problem with the content of the application, the Embassy transmits the application to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tokyo for further examination. In such cases issuance of a visa may take more than a month. Visa applicants are reminded to apply early for their visa, well in advance of the anticipated travel date.

Payment must be made upon collection of visa, in CASH only.
If the visa is not issued, no fees required.
Validity of Visa
The period of validity of the single-entry visa is three months. The visa will become invalid once he/she applied for landing or be expired by reaching expiry date whichever is earlier.
