Temporarily Suspension of Visa Exemption Measures
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, visa exemption measures for short term stay (A stay of up to 90 days for tourism, business, visiting friends or relatives, etc. that does not include remunerative activities) for Mauritian citizens are temporarily suspended.
All foreign nationals who wish to newly enter Japan are required to obtain a visa in advance of travel except for those have a valid re-entry permit.

For Tourists
Based on the New Measures for Border Enforcement (29), foreign nationals newly entering Japan for a short-term stay for tourism (only when a travel agency among others organizing the trip serves as the receiving organization of the entrants) are allowed to enter Japan as from 10 June 2022.
However, this measure is limited to those who will enter from the countries/regions of the group “Blue” designed in New Measures for Border Enforcement (28).
Please note that Mauritius is categorized as the group “Yellow”, and as of this moment those who wish to visit Japan for tourism purpose from Mauritius are not allowed to enter Japan.
