Japanese Government Scholarship
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan offers scholarships to international students who wish to study in graduate courses at Japanese universities as Research Students (either regular students or non-regular students) under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program for 2019.
The first step for the application arranged by the Embassy is as follows:
6 May ～ 28 June 2019
Submission of Application form by applicants
1 July ～ 5 July 2019
Preliminary Screening of Applicants by the Embassy of Japan
8 July ～ 12 July 2019
Notification of the result of the Preliminary Screening to all the applicants.
Third week of July 2019
Written examination and Interview as First Screening, only for the applicants who passed the Preliminary screening (The date and place of the examination will be notified to the applicants who passed the screening)
22 July ～24 July 2019
Notification of the result of the First Screening
The applicants who passed the First Screening shall proceed with the necessary procedures according to the Application Guidelines and by the instructions of the Embassy of Japan.
The persons who wish to apply for the scholarship should read the Guidelines with attention and send the application form and Field of Study and Study Program form by the closing date (28 June 2019) .
The forms for the MEXT scholarship must be completely filled especially the Field of Study and Study program form.
If not, the application may be deemed invalid.
