Conferment Handing Over Ceremony for the Former Honorary Consul-General of Japan to Mauritius

The Government of Japan had officially approved on 03 November 2017 of the decoration of the “Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon of Japan” to Mr. Anil Currimjee, who has been the Consul of Japan in Mauritius for more than 14 years.
This handing over ceremony hosted by Ambassador of Japan to Mauritius, His Excellency Mr. Yoshiharu Kato was held at the Residence of the Ambassador in Floreal on the evening of 25 May 2018.
Mr. Anil Currimjee, Managing Director of Currimjee Group, was decorated because of his contribution for mutual understanding and the development of friendly relations between Japan and Mauritius.
At his side, his wife Natasha, his parents, friends, relatives and colleagues were warmly watching over the ceremony. Mrs Usha Dwarka Canabady, Secretary for Foreign Affairs was one of the main guests and gave well-earned praises for the track record of Mr. Currimjee.
