Assistance of Japan to the Republic of Mauritius in the case of the MV WAKASHIO oil spill

In the context of the oil spill disaster caused by the MV Wakashio, the Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) team has donated 10,000 units of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and 200 meters of skimming oil fence to Mauritius. The team leader of the 2nd batch of JDR team, Mr TASHIRO proceeded to the handover of this equipment to the Mauritian authorities in Thursday, 10th September at the National Crisis Committee Headquarters in Blue-Bay.
This donation forms a part of the ongoing assistance offered by Japan in the response to the urgent assistance request from the Government of the Republic of Mauritius.
