Signing Ceremony of GGP/KUSANONE: “The Project for Introducing Ultrasound Machine for Breast Cancer Screening Caravan”

On 20th January 2022, the signing ceremony of the grant contract for the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) was held at the main office of NGO, Link to Life, in Vacoas. The grant contract was signed by Mr. KAWAGUCHI Shuichiro, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Mr. Rajendra Prasad GANGOOSINGH, President of Link to Life, in the presence of other board members and staff.
 
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among the female population and also the one with highest rate of the death in Mauritius. This will help local people living in rural area take examination for cancer detection.
 
Link to Life will receive a grant of 40,349 euros, or approximately 2 million rupees and it will be used to equip their caravan with two mobile ultrasound machines. Upon completion of the project, Link to Life will visit more than 13 areas in Mauritius and provide free breast screening to 2,500-3,000 women on a yearly basis.
