Important Notice on Lifting of Entry Ban into Japan and Suspending Visa Exemption

On 6 April 2022, the Government of Japan decided to relax some of border security measures against the spread of Novel Coronavirus infections.
 
According to the new measure, the 106 countries including Mauritius will not be subject to denial of permission to enter Japan from 0:00 am (JST) on 8 April 2022.
 
However, same as from 0:00 am (JST) on 8 April 2022, visa exemption measures for 14 countries including Mauritius will be suspended until further notice. Thus, all foreign nationals are required to obtain visas before visiting Japan except for those with re-entry permit.
 
Please note that, as already-implemented, foreign nationals with special exceptional circumstances (tourism purpose excluded) are entitled to obtain visas.
