On 7 October 2022, the signing ceremony of the grant contract for the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) was held at the residence of the Ambassador. The grant contract was signed by Mr. KAWAGUCHI Shuichiro, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and the representatives of two NGOs namely Mrs. Bérengère Sériès, President of Ti Rayons Soleil and Mrs. Vidya B. Charan, Executive Director of Mauritius Family Planning and Welfare Association (MFPWA).
“The Project for Procurement of Bus to Provide Learning and Food Support in the Midwestern Mauritius”
Ti Rayons Soleil will receive a grant of 24,273 euros, or approximately 1.1 million rupees and it will be used to procure one 15 seater bus. Upon completion of the project, NGO will be able to not only provide the beneficiaries with safe transportation but also continue food distribution support to children and their families in need.
“The Project for Provision of Ultrasound Machines for Gynecological and Abdomen Screening and Vehicle”
MFPWA will receive a grant of 69,641 euros, or approximately 3.1 million rupees and it will be used to procure two ultrasound machines and one vehicle . Upon completion of the project, NGO will be able to provide gynecological and abdomen screening services to more people. Also, the implementation of the project is expected to contribute for the early detection of cancers and improvement in public health.
