On 23 November 2023, Mr. KAWAGUCHI Shuichiro, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mauritius, and the Honourable Pravind Kumar JUGNAUTH, the Prime Minister attended the handover ceremony of four speed boats in Port Louis.
Japan provided grant assistance of 300 million Japanese Yen to strengthen Mauritius’s maritime security capacity through the "Economic and Social Development Programme”. Under this programme, the National Coast Guard of Mauritius is now equipped with four Yamaha Speed Boats in addition to two high speed boats donated in April 2023.
