"Washoku and Sake Experience" Japanese Seafood Products Promotion

On 26th and 27th March 2024, the Embassy held a Washoku(Japanese cuisine) and Sake tasting event at the Ambassador's residence to increase awareness of Japanese seafood products and promote Japanese cuisine.
70 people from the Mauritian food industry, including local five-star hotel managers, chefs, and food suppliers, attended the event.

Ambassador KAN spoke on the growing popularity of the Washoku around the world and highlighted the safety and deliciousness of Japanese seafood. The participants relished pairing the Washoku with Sake while listening to the explanations by the chef of the Ambassador, and deepened their understanding for Japanese seafood.

There were interactive discussions with great curiosity and appreciation from the participants, after they had novel seafood products such as scallops and sweet shrimp.
