Exchange of Views with the International Society for Mangrove Ecosystems (ISME)

On 24 October, Ambassador KAN exchanged views with the International Society for Mangrove Ecosystems (ISME) on strengthening bilateral relations through environmental protection support in Mauritius. (Note: ISME has been providing technical support in Mauritius for five years, through the MOL Mauritius International Fund for Natural Environment Recovery and Sustainability.)

They discussed a wide range of topics related to Mauritius. These included the role of mangroves in building ecosystems for biodiversity and protecting coastal areas from high waves, as well as examining projects that use mangroves as a source of income for local residents.
