Courtesy Call on Mr. Daicho, Deputy Mayor of Shizuoka City, and Exchange of Views with Shizuoka City

On 22 November, Ambassador KAN performed an official visit to Shizuoka City. He paid a courtesy call on Mr. Daicho, Deputy Mayor of Shizuoka City, and exchanged views on international exchange between Mauritius and Shizuoka City.
The relationship between Shizuoka City and Mauritius began when the former hosted a pre-Games training camp for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, and it continues today with the acceptance of Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) from Mauritius.
During the courtesy call on Mr. Daicho, the Vice Mayor of Shizuoka City, the Ambassador introduced the wonders of Mauritius and exchanged opinions about the development of exchanges between the two countries through the export of local products, the promotion of tourism in both countries, and other means. There was also a sharing of information and an exchange of opinions on academic and personnel exchange, including research related to Mauritius being conducted by Shizuoka University and Tokoha University.
