Courtesy call on the Honourable Deputy Prime Minister Bérenger

On December 12, Ambassador KAN paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Deputy Prime Minister Bérenger. Ambassador KAN confirmed that Mauritius is an important partner in promoting Japan's vision of a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific" (FOIP), and shared that Mauritius occupies an important strategic position as a gateway for investment in Africa. They exchanged views on strengthening the relationship and cooperation between Japan and Mauritius. They agreed to continue to work closely together amidst the complex international situation.
