On 22nd and 23rd March 2025, the Embassy of Japan in Mauritius hosted the largest Japan event ever held in the country, titled ‘GOKAN (Five Senses) JAPAN - Special Edition EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan’ at Grand Baie La Croisette. This two-day event was a unique opportunity to experience Japan in Mauritius and connect with Japan.

The word "Gokan" in Japanese means the five senses: sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste. At this special edition, we celebrated these senses through a variety of activities and experiences. This special edition was also a large-scale awareness campaign for the Osaka-Kansai Expo to be held in Japan for six months from April this year, allowing people to experience Japan through various activities and experiences.
