Opening of the Embassy of Mauritius in Japan

On August 22, a grand opening ceremony for the Embassy of Mauritius was held at the newly opened Embassy of Mauritius in Japan (7th floor, Tsukiji Center Building, Chuo-ku, Tokyo). The ceremony was attended by Dr. the Hon. Ramgoolam, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, and Mrs Ramgoolam, Amb. J. Bissoondoyal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Mr Anil Currimjee former Honorary Consul General of Japan in Mauritius (Chairman of Business Mauritius), Mr Charles Harel, President of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and representatives of the Mauritian government, and business communities. The Japanese side included Ambassador Tadayuki Miyashita, Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Masahiro Kan, Ambassador of Japan to Mauritius, and Mr. Junichiro Ikeda, former Honorary Consul of Mauritius (Chairman of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd.). The opening of the Embassy of Mauritius in Japan is expected to further strengthen and develop bilateral relations between Japan and Mauritius.
