On August 22, Ambassador Masahiro Kan attended the Mauritius-Japan Business Meeting (Reception and Dinner) hosted by the Mauritius Economic Development Board (EDB) at the Tokyo Palace Hotel. The meeting brought together more than 30 participants, including representatives of Mauritian conglomerates and government officials visiting Japan for TICAD9, as well as executives from major Japanese companies currently operating in Mauritius and those interested in expanding into Africa through Mauritius.
The Mauritius-Japan Business Meeting saw a lively exchange of views and information aimed at further promoting future exchanges between Japanese and Mauritian companies. Attendees expressed their hope for the signing of an Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (IPPA) and a Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA), emphasizing and confirming the importance of promoting exchanges and information between business representatives from both countries.
