Handover Ceremony of the Endoscope System at the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital

On November 4, Mr KAN Masahiro, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Mauritius, together with the Honourable Anil Kumar Bachoo, Minister of Health and Wellness, attended the handover ceremony of endoscope system to the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital.
In September 2022, the Government of Japan provided grant assistance of 550 million JPY (approximately 170 million MUR) under the FY2022 Economic and Social Development Programme to strengthen and improve the medical service capacity of the regional hospitals of the Republic of Mauritius. As part of this cooperation, the latest Japanese endoscope system has been provided to the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, while the Victoria Hospital and the Trust Fund for Specialised Medical Care Cardiac Centre have also received operating tables, anaesthesia machines with gas analyser and syringe pumps. This project aims to improve the quality of healthcare services and access to medical care in Mauritius by providing advanced medical equipment to public hospitals and conducting trainings.
