Spreading Japanese Culture and Karate through Launch of manual for instructors and students by Japan Karate Association (JKA) Mauritius

On the 16th of November, His Excellency KAN Masahiro, Ambassador of Japan in Mauritius attended the launch of the manual for instructors and students of Japan Karate Association (JKA) Mauritius association at the L’Ardoise restaurant in Moka. This launch was made in the presence of His Excellency Dharam GOKHOOL, G.C.S.K, President of the Republic of Mauritius. A presentation of the manual was made by the chairman of JKA Mauritius, Dr. Didier Samfat. The event gathered students, parents and instructors from all the clubs of the association. This manual will be used by all the clubs and students of the JKA including in Rodrigues. In his speech, H.E KAN Masahiro commended the efforts of the JKA Mauritius to promote, through teaching Karate, not only the techniques of Karate but also the Japanese culture, history and values, such as respect, self-control effort, and integrity, which “Bushido” cherishes. Ambassador KAN stated that Japan will ensure its continuous support to spreading Japanese culture such as Karate in Mauritius. The President of the Republic, H.E Dharam Gokhool for his part commended the pedagogical approach of the JKA Mauritius and expressed his hope to further enhance visibility of Karate in Mauritius.
