Inauguration Ceremony of the Odysseo Marine Station

On January 15, Ambassador KAN attended the inauguration ceremony of the Odysseo Marine Station, a research facility established jointly by the University of Mauritius and the Odysseo Foundation to promote a regenerative blue economy, which aims to restore and strengthen the ocean economy without compromising marine ecosystems.
This research facility is supported by the MOL Charitable Trust (MCT), founded by the Japanese company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd., and includes research collaboration with Shizuoka University. Through this cooperation, Japanese knowledge and expertise contribute to sustainable research, monitoring, and conservation of the coral reef environment in Mauritius.
The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of the Dr The Hon SUKON ,Minister of Tertiary Education, Science and Research, and included the official opening of the Odysseo Marine Station, as well as a presentation by the University of Mauritius on the restoration and strengthening of marine ecosystems.
