This two-day festival was designed to showcase Japanese brands, foster business opportunities, and expand the market reach for Japan’s agricultural, forestry, and fishery products.

Reflecting the strong local interest in Japanese cuisine, the event introduced new facets of Japan’s food culture. Highlights included a traditional mochi-pounding demonstration and hands-on workshops, which proved highly popular. Additionally, visitors enjoyed Takoyaki samples, a nod to the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, which drew significant interest given that octopus is a local specialty in Mauritius. Matcha ice cream and sushi tastings further delighted the crowds.
