Attendance to the Inauguration Ceremony of Community Playgrounds

On 6 August 2026, Mr. KAN Masahiro, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Mauritius, attended the inauguration ceremony of the Mahebourg Waterfront and Residence La Chaux children's playgrounds, organized by the District Council of Grand Port and MOL Mauritius Ltd.
The event was attended by Dr the Hon. Arvin Boolell, Minister of Agro-Industry, Food Security, Blue Economy and Fisheries, the Hon. Dhananjay Ramful, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, the Hon. Ranjiv Woochit, Minister of Local Government, cabinet ministers as well as representatives from local authorities and the community.
Ambassador Kan welcomed MOL’s continued contribution to Mauritian communities and sustainable development. He expressed his delight at seeing children enthusiastically enjoying the newly donated playgrounds, noting that their smiles and laughter demonstrated the value of creating safe and inclusive spaces for children and families. He also reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to further strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Japan and Mauritius.
The ceremony also featured Japanese and local cuisine prepared with fresh local ingredients, providing an excellent opportunity for participants to deepen their friendships and exchanges.
