Aikido Seminar

On the 4th of September 2026, Mr. KAN Masahiro, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Mauritius attended the seminar of the Aikido Ryu Mauritius. This ceremony was held at the gymnasium of Paillote in the presence of the Honourable Ally Houssain ABDULKHADER, Mayor of Vacoas/ Phoenix and Sports, and the Master TOYODA Stephen Kentaro “Tatsuo”, president of Aikido Association International (AAI), Aikido Association of America (AAA), and also of the Japanese Culture Centre (JCC) in Chicago, USA.
The seminar was the occasion of demonstrations of aikido by the President of the Aikido Ryu Mauritius, Nemraz JUGGOO and Master TOYODA. During his stay in Mauritius, Master TOYODA also supervised the black belt grading exams.
In his remarks, Ambassador KAN commended the federation for promoting a Japanese martial art that has for founding principles: harmony, self-control, and solving conflicts peacefully.
The Mayor of Vacoas/Phoenix and Sports, Ally Houssain ABDULKHADER expressed in his speech, his satisfaction of having an increase of enthusiasm for sports and martial arts in the town of Vacoas and Phoenix.
Master TOYODA expressed his gratitude for the Ambassador’s attendance, and he spoke about the consolidation of the Aikido federations around the world and expressed his wish to continue to support Aikido in Mauritius.
