Handing over ceremony of 150 Judo uniforms

On the 11th of July 2019, the handing over ceremony of 150 judo uniforms was held at the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the presence of the Honorable Jean Christophe Stephan TOUSSAINT, Minister of Youth and Sports.
In March of last year, during a courtesy visit by the Honorable Jean Christophe Stephan TOUSSAINT to the Ambassador of Japan in Mauritius, H.E. Yoshiharu KATO, he requested the support of Japan in the terms of training for judokas and coaches, as well as the supply of equipment. With the support of Embassy of Embassy of Japan, the Ministry of Youth and Sports as well as Mauritius Judo Federation are going to further promote the Mauritian Judo and upgrade the judokas. The Embassy of Japan in Mauritius reached out to the Japan-Mauritius Friendship Association and they made every effort to collect Judo uniforms(judo-gi). Consequently, they got 150 uniforms from police and others.
At the ceremony, the Honorable Jean Christophe Stephan TOUSSAINT appreciated the donation and emphasized the importance of Judo uniforms so that players can perform well in the practice and matches.
The judo-gi will be distributed by the Judo Federation to their respective branches.
